This is something I can’t figure out.
“I hate email.”
“Email is THE WORST.”
“Don’t email me, I never read them.”
“I know we all hate emails, but…”
“Oh God, not another email series / newsletter.”
But, like, why?
Email marketing is SUPPOSEDLY the most impactful way to grow your business, whether you’re a blogger, sell physical products, or some kind of service. Literally everyone agrees on this. (Seriously, have you asked everyone? Because I have, and they unanimously agreed.) People don’t always agree that you need a blog, or that you need to be on a certain social media platform, or all social media platforms.
But they ALL say: collect people’s email addresses! Get their names! Stay in touch! Best ever marketing!
So I’m just saying like, why are we all liars? Or maybe, hypocrites? Is that what we are? Because we’re all like, psh, email sux. And then 2 seconds later we’re all like, omg sign up for my email thing!
I just would like everyone to raise hands – praise hands, maybe, or Oprah hands if you prefer – and admit it out loud, that email is OKAY. And maybe, just maybe we even like it a little bit? Ok? Yes? Ok. Yes.
Glad to have that off my heavily burdened yet very small chest. Regardless of your chest size, perhaps you feel lighter as well?
